How to model a wall in Archicad so that the finish wraps around columns?

Issue Description

When columns protrude through exterior walls, the finished skin of the wall often does not seamlessly wrap around the columns. This can lead to visual inconsistencies in both 2D drawings and 3D models. How can the wall finish skin be configured to wrap around protruding columns?

Solution

There is an option in Column Selection Settings that allows you to make wall skins wrap on columns. To do this:

1. Select the Column then go to Column Selection Settings.
2. Go to Column tab, then in the Positioning section, select Wrapped as the wrapping method.

Once the wrapping method is set to Wrapped, the finish skin of the intersecting wall will adjust to encase the protruding column, ensuring a polished and professional appearance in both drawings and renderings.
