Issue Description
In section drawings, walls, and slabs are failing to connect correctly, leading to visual inconsistencies or gaps. How can this issue be resolved to ensure accurate intersections and proper connections?
Solution
The way elements connect since Archicad 17 is determined by Building Material Intersection Priorities. These priorities dictate how materials interact and display in model views. The basic list with the Archicad template is set to correctly list materials with their priorities but custom-made building materials need attention or modifications to resolve connection issues.
Navigate to Options > Element Attributes > Building Materials.
-
Use the slider to increase or decrease a Building Material’s priority relative to others.
-
Alternatively, click the Priority header to sort materials by their current priority. Then, drag the selected material up or down to modify its position. A higher position on the list corresponds to a lower intersection priority.
TIP: Adjusting the priority of the Building Materials settings will apply across the entire project for all elements using the modified material. If the change should only apply to specific elements, create a duplicate Building Material with the desired priority and assign it to the affected elements.
