Issue Description
Personalizing an interior project often involves incorporating custom photos to match the design's theme. How can a custom photo be added to an Archicad project effectively?
Solution
Archicad offers a Picture Object that can be customized to include user-specific images. Here's how to incorporate a custom photo as an object in your project:
- Prepare the Photo
- Choose the photo you want to add to your project. Ensure the photo's dimensions are known, as this will be important for object customization later.
- Import the Photo into Archicad
- Navigate to File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager.
-
- In the Library Manager, click on Add New File(s) to the Selected Folder. Locate and select your custom photo file. This step ensures the photo is accessible within your project library. It is recommended to create a separate folder for every new object inserted in the library for better organization.
- Insert the Picture Object
- Select the Object Tool from the Toolbox.
- Search for an object named Picture in the Object Settings dialog. This is the placeholder object for custom images.
- Customize the Picture Object
- In the object’s settings, switch to the Style and Dimensions tab.
- Adjust the object's dimensions to match the photo's proportions for accurate scaling.
- Enable the option Use Custom Picture, and then click the right arrow to locate and select your imported photo.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
