How to export complex profiles from one file to another?

Description

I have created various custom Complex Profiles in previous projects.  How can I import these profiles to a new project?

Solution

To export and import profiles between Archicad projects:

1. Open the source project and go to Options > Element Attributes > Attribute Manager.

   

2. In Attribute Manager, select the Complex Profiles tab.
3. On the left, select all profiles to export (use Cmd + A or Ctrl + A).
4. Click Append to list selected profiles on the right; check Include All Associated Attributes.

5. Click Export and save as an XML file.

   

6. Open the target project and go to Options > Element Attributes > Attribute Manager > Complex Profiles tab.
7. Click Import, locate the saved XML file, and confirm.

8. Newly imported profiles appear on the right; select all, then click Append to move them to the left.

   

9. Open the Changes tab, confirm updates (yellow triangle).

10. Click Apply All, then OK to save.
