Issue description
You have a wall in Archicad with a vertical position independent of its Home Story. This is common in buildings with split levels or those built on a slope, and you want to set the window Sill to be calculated from the wall's base rather than from the home story.
Solution
Archicad provides three options for linking window sills: Sill to Story, Sill to Wall Top, and Sill to Wall Base.
To link the window sill to the wall base, follow these steps:
- Select the window you want to adjust.
- Right-click and choose Window Settings or use the shortcut Ctrl+T (Windows) or Cmd+T (mac).
- In the Window Settings dialog, go to the Preview and Positioning tab.
In the Anchors section, change from Sill to Story to Sill to Wall base.
Click OK to apply the changes.
You can now set the Sill height in Archicad, ensuring accurate placement on the wall from its base without having to calculate level differences from the home story.
