Issue Description
When dealing with complex roof designs, it’s common to encounter a situation where two differently sloped roofs need to be connected. This can become time-consuming if each angle has to be manually adjusted. Is there an automatic method in Archicad to connect these roofs without manually inputting the desired angles?
Solution
Archicad provides an automatic way to connect two differently sloped roofs by using the "Mitred Edge" feature in the Custom Edge Settings. This tool streamlines the process, eliminating the need for manual angle adjustments. To do this:
1: Select Both Roofs: Begin by selecting both roofs you want to connect. Ensure that both roof edges you intend to join are highlighted.
2: Open the Custom Edge Settings: Click on the shared edge between the two roofs. A pet palette will appear once the edge is selected. From the pet palette, click on the option labeled Custom Edge Settings. This will open the edge configuration options.
3: Set to Mitred Edge: In the Custom Edge Settings dialog box, navigate to the Angle section. Under this section, choose Mitred Edge. This setting will automatically align the edges of both roofs at the correct angles, creating a seamless transition between them.
4: Confirm and Apply: Click OK to apply the settings. The roofs will now be connected with aligned edges, without the need for further manual input.
