Issue Description
I need to create a unique balustrade and integrate it effectively into the Railing Tool.
Solution
To design a custom balustrade for a railing, the Complex Profiles feature in Archicad can be utilized.
Create a Complex Profile.
1. Navigate to Options > Element Attributes > Profile Manager.
2. In the Profile Manager window, click the (+) button to create a new complex profile.
3. Using the fill tool, draw the desired profile shape of the balustrade. Once completed, select Walls in the “Use with” section, then click Save.
4. Draw the Wall Profile.
- Go to the Floor Plan view and draw the wall using the Curve - Centerpoint geometry method.
- Ensure the structure is set to Complex Profile and select the custom balustrade profile that was just created.
- Set the radius value to 1.
5. Check in 3D View.
- Switch to the 3D View to verify the balustrade’s appearance. If everything looks good, proceed to save the custom balustrade as a railing post.
6. Save as a Railing Post.
- Select the balustrade in the 3D view, then go to File > Libraries and Objects > Save Selection as… > Railing Post.
7. Apply the Custom Baluster to the Railing.
- Open the Railing Selection Settings and navigate to the Baluster tab.
- Under Baluster Settings, select the custom railing post saved earlier and apply it to the railing.
- Click OK to confirm the settings.
