Issue Description
When creating detailed 3D perspectives you would like to insert realistic elements such as people, trees, or other objects using your own images. These images help to give a more dynamic and lifelike appearance to the model, is this possible?
Solution
Inserting images into Archicad is a straightforward process.
1: Prepare the Images.
Before importing, ensure the images are saved as PNG files with transparent backgrounds. This helps the images blend seamlessly into your 3D model without unwanted background elements.
2: Import the PNG Image into Archicad.
- Go to File > Libraries and Objects > Library Manager.
- In the Library Manager window, create a new folder specifically for your images to keep things organized.
- Click Add and locate the images you wish to use. Once selected, import the image files into your custom folder, then press OK to confirm.
3: Insert the Cutout Object into the Model.
- Open the Object Tool and navigate to the Archicad Library.
- Go to Visualization > People and Vehicles > People and select the People Bitmap object.
- In the object settings, change the picture option to Custom.
- Browse for the PNG image you imported in the Custom Picture Name section.
- Once selected, press OK to insert the image into your 3D model.
4: Adjust Placement and Scale.
After placing the cutout object, you can adjust its position, scale, and orientation to match the perspective of your 3D scene, ensuring the cutout blends naturally within the environment.
Tip: You can use this same process to insert other types of cutout objects, such as trees or vehicles, adding more detail and realism to your 3D presentations.
You can also save each object as favorite so next time, all settings will be preset.
