Issue Description
In large projects with numerous objects, the detailed presentation of objects can cause 3D Navigation to slow down. To improve performance, a schematic-only presentation can be used to simplify object display. But how can this be done automatically across the project?
Solution
Archicad allows you to adjust the presentation detail of objects through the Model View Options, providing flexibility to switch between detailed and schematic representations as needed. This can be particularly useful when you need a simpler view to enhance performance.
To toggle the object view type to schematic, follow these steps:
1; In the 3D View or any relevant drawing, open the Model View Options.
- Navigate to: Document > Model View > Model View Options.
2: In the Miscellaneous Settings for Library Parts tab, locate the settings for Object and Lamp’s presentation. Under the options for Section and 3D, select Schematic as the presentation mode. This will apply a simplified view of the objects, reducing the level of detail. Click OK to confirm and apply the changes.
Once set, this adjustment will ensure that objects throughout the project are displayed in a schematic format, optimizing performance without sacrificing the overall design intent. You can also opt to change the presentation for the Floor Plan View using the same method.
