How can I show a window on plan that sits higher than the cut plane?

Description

I have a window positioned higher than the cutting plane, so it does not appear in the floor plan view. How can I make windows that are located above the cut plane visible?

Solution

Any elements above the height set for the Floor Plan Cut Plane won't be visible unless they are set to Symbolic in their Floor Plan Projection settings. 

However, setting the floor plan display of all doors and windows to Symbolic can lead to misunderstandings of the plan. To prevent this from happening, the proper way to show these types of elements is by adjusting the Floor Plan Cut Plane. To do this:

1. Go to the Floor Plan View.

2. Navigate to Document > Floor Plan Cut Plane.

   
   

3. Increase the value of the Cut Plane height to Current story so that it intersects with the higher elements, such as the window.

4. Click OK to confirm your changes.

5. After making changes, be sure to Redefine the View so the adjustments are properly stored in your View's settings.
