Issue Description
In my Roof Plan, a wall that is positioned below the Floor Plan Cut Plane (the parapet) is displayed as transparent. I would like the wall to show with a fill.
How can I adjust this setting to ensure the wall appears correctly in the roof plan?
Solution
The Floor Plan Cut Plane determines at what height the model is "cut" in 2D views like plans. If your parapet walls are below the cut plane, they will appear transparent.
The 2D Plan will only show Drafting Fills, Cover Fills, or Cut Fills. An uncut wall has none of these. So to see the fill you need to cut the wall.
- Go to Document >Floor Plan Cut Plane.
- Check the height of the cut plane relative to your parapet wall. If the parapet wall is below the cut plane, lower the cut plane height so that it cuts through the wall.
If you do not want to lower the Cut Plane as you would like to see the entire roof plan, then you can use the Graphical Overrides to control the look of this wall.
Make sure this wall, the parapet, is in its own layer so that we can distinguish it from other wall elements.
- Go to Document > Graphic Overrides > Graphic Override Combinations... and create a new Graphical Override combination.
- Select Manage Rules.
- Start by creating a new Rule from the bottom left, then add in the criteria that will select the parapet wall.
- Check the box for Fill type and select a fill, make sure to enable it for Cut Fills/Cover Fills and then select OK.
- Add this rule to the Combination you made earlier and select OK.
- The parapet walls should now show with a fill without editing the height of the Floor Plan Cut Plane.
