How to unlink an element from a Design Option in Archicad

Issue description

An element in the project is linked to a Design Option. When the element is copied into another project, the Design Option is carried over as well. To prevent this behavior, the element must be unlinked from the Design Option before copying. This article covers a method to unlink the element from the Design Option.

Solution

To unlink an element from its Design Option in Archicad, follow these steps:

1. Open the Design Options Palette via Window > Palettes >Design Options.

2. Select the Design Option that contains the element you want to unlink in the Design Options palette, this will make the element visible.
3. Select the element in the 3D view or floor plan.
4. Highlight the Main Model in the Design Options palette and then click on Relink. This will unlink the element from the Design Option and return it to the main design.

This process allows you to remove elements from Design Options and manage them directly in the Main Model.
