Issue Description
When working on a roof plan, it’s essential to accurately display the elevation dimensions of the roof structure. How can elevation dimensions be properly added to the roof plan with Archicad?
Solution
To add elevation dimensions to the roof plan, the Level Dimension tool in Archicad can be utilized. Here's how to do it step by step:
- Navigate to the Roof Plan.
- Select the Level Dimension tool from the Toolbox. Alternatively, you can access it via Document > Documenting Tools > Level Dimension.
Once the Level Dimension Tool is activated:
- Enable Gravity then check the "Gravitate to Roof" option. This ensures the tool snaps exclusively to roof elements, making the dimensioning process more accurate and efficient.
Archicad also provides various marker styles that can be selected based on specific project requirements.
By default, the level dimensions are extracted from the "Visible top to Project Zero". If the project has special requirements, you can customize the values using Archicad's various predefined parameters.
Keep in mind that the Level Dimension tool is not available for elevation and section drawings. In these cases, use the Dimension tool and set the dimension type to Elevation Dimension to display appropriate results.
