I need to present a design update to my client where the new design is overlaid with the existing one using a trace and reference. Is there a way to print it where the trace and reference is also present?
Solution
You can print Trace and Reference through the Document options when saving the PDF.
1. In the Layout, select the drawing then go to Drawing Selection Settings. Make sure to check on the “Transparent Background” setting under the Size and Appearance tab. This is to ensure visibility for the traced elements, as the drawing will be placed in front of the referenced image when saved as PDF. Select OK.
2. Go to File > Save As. Change the format to PDF file then click Document Options. (This can also be set in the document options of the publisher set.)
3. In the document options, be sure to Check “Print Reference”. Click OK then SAVE.
