Description
The modeling of the building in Archicad is complete, and a preliminary visualization is needed for the client. To roughly position the model on its intended site, a background image has been prepared. How can I integrate this image into the Archicad model?
Solution
You can import a custom image as a background to your 3D model in Archicad. To do this:
Import your image in the PhotoRendering settings.
- Go to Document > Creative Imaging > PhotoRendering Settings.
- In the Background tab, change background to “Image” then click browse to import your image. You can choose different scaling possibilities, scale to fit, scale to fill or custom. Click OK when done.
Go to 3D Styles (View > 3D View Options > 3D Styles) . In the Background tab, check “As in Photorendering” to adapt the background settings set on the PhotoRendering. Click OK.
Adjust the view to fit the background. You can also use commands like “Orbit”, “Pan” and “Zoom” to properly position your model. Using “3D explore” can also help.
By following these steps, you can position your model pretty accurately within its real-world context, providing your client with a quick convincing and professional visualization.
