How can I create a custom shaped Curtain Wall?

Description

I am designing a building in Archicad and need to incorporate an irregularly shaped curtain wall on my façade. How can I edit the perimeter of my curtain wall?

Solution

To change the shape of the curtain wall, you need to go to the Curtain Wall Edit mode and edit its boundary shape. To do this:

1. Select the curtain wall, and to enable Edit mode:
   • Click on the Edit banner that appears on screen.
   • Or via Design > Enter Curtain Wall Edit Mode.
2. In Edit mode, switch off the visibility of all components, except Scheme Grid. This is done so we can clearly see the reference line which we will use on the next step. 

3. Turn on the visibility of Environment to snap any reference pattern we need.

   
   

4. Click the Boundary line (thick line at the perimeter) of the curtain wall, click add node in the pet palette, or any necessary commands to adjust it according to the shape you desire.

   

5. Click Exit Edit mode when done.
