Description
You're working on a Zone Schedule in Archicad, where you're tracking the Measured Area, Cost per sqm, and Finish for various rooms. You notice that some rooms have identical characteristics, and you want to simplify your schedule by merging these similar rooms into a single row. The goal is for the Measured Area field to display the total area of these merged rooms, making your schedule cleaner and easier to read. How can you achieve this?
Solution
To merge similar items in an Archicad Schedule
- Go to Schedule, Select Merge Items.
- Select the Header of the column that you want to merge similar values. Click the double overlapping box icon at the right side of the Header cell.
- Check Uniform Values Only on the Merge values and “Uniform Value” on the Displayed Value then click OK.
If the values still do not merge, check whether the other Headers- Measured Area, Cost per sqm, and finish is merging the correct value.
- Measured Area:
Set the Merge to Any Value and the Displayed Value to Sum of Values to total the areas of similar Zones. - Cost per sqm:
Set the Merge to Uniform Values and the Displayed Value to Uniform Value. - Finish:
Set the Merge to Any Value and the Displayed Value to List of Values.
After these adjustments, your schedule will merge rows where the Zone Name and Cost per sqm have identical values. The Measured Area of the merged Zones will be summed up, and all associated Finish details will be listed under the corresponding rows.
By following these steps, you can efficiently merge similar items in your Archicad Schedule, resulting in a more organized and concise presentation of your data. This method not only simplifies the overall schedule but also provides a clearer summary of essential details like the total Measured Area and the associated Costs and Finishes.
With a streamlined schedule, you can quickly grasp key information and make informed decisions, enhancing both the readability and utility of your project documentation.
