Issue Description
If the license files within the CmAct folder become corrupted, Archicad may fail to recognize a valid license.
Solution
Here's what the CmAct folder typically contains:
-
License Files: This folder stores the license information and activation data. These files are essential for verifying that your copy of Archicad is licensed and that the license is valid.
-
Activation Data: When you activate or update your Archicad license, information is written to the CmAct folder.
-
Configuration Files: The folder may also include configuration files used by the CodeMeter software to manage licenses.
Occasionally, this data may get corrupt, and we must reset this folder. Before you do anything to this folder ensure all licenses if possible are removed from the computer or returned to the cloud.
For PC:
- Control Center > processes > stop service
- C:\ProgramData\CodeMeter\CmAct and delete the entire content.
- Control Center > processes > start service
For Mac:
- From System Preferences, access the CodeMeter control panel.
- Click the “Stop Service” button.
- Locate the CmAct folder: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > CodeMeter > CmAct
- Delete the contents of the "CmAct" folder.
- Return to the CodeMeter control panel in System Preferences. and restart the service
