Description
In some cases, especially during the schematic design phase, you want to show Zones in Sections. This will greatly help in presentation having different colors associated to each area. Later on, the Zones might be still needed on sections, but they block out other elements inside them. How can we make them transparent at the same time with the correct color associated with them?
Solution
To make your Zones appear transparent in the section:
- Make sure that Transparency in Section Settings is turned on.
- Create new Graphic Override Rule specific for Zone.
- Adjust the Transmittance value to be greater than 50 (>50).
TIP: By turning on the “Transparency” in the section settings, all surfaces which have a Transmittance value >49 will be transparent. There are cases where you want to set glazing to opaque to hide unnecessary elements behind it. To do this, you will need to add another Graphics Override Rule to adjust the Surface Transmittance Value to be less than 50 (<50). Another workaround is by adjusting the Section's Horizontal Range to the edge of the wall.
