Description
I am trying to place a Rail to go along the Ramp and its curvature, however the Rail tool seems to be non-associative with objects. As a workaround, here’s a guide on how to efficiently create a rail that is adjusted to the ramp's curvature.
Solution:
- Select your preferred Ramp type in the Object Default Settings Dialogue and adjust the Ramp Settings according to your needs.
- Place the Ramp in the plan followed by tracing the Ramp’s Arc length with an Arc/Circle tool.
- Move the traced Arc away from the Ramp then place the Rail along the Arc using the Magic Wand tool.
-
Move the newly created Rail over the Ramp.
- In the 3D View, (activate the Edit mode) edit the Rail baseline elevation manually according to the ramp's gradient.
