Description
I have a dual monitor setup and I want to use for Archicad, having one monitor exclusively for my 3D view. Is it possible?
Solution
Working with a dual monitor setup can greatly improve your efficiency. Let’s explore how you can utilize this setup for Archicad across different Operating Systems.
- On Mac OS, you can use Archicad with dual screen by undocking it’s views. You can separately place the the Plan and 3D view depending on your preference. This could be achieved by right clicking on the tab you want to undock, then select “Undock Tab”.
This can also be done using the Window tab menu > Undock/Dock.
- In Windows OS, you can also undock a view, but it can just make the view floating inside the Archicads window, so dual screen doesn’t work on this setup. This is done by right clicking on the tab you want to float (e.g. 3D / All), then clicking “Set Window Size”.
If you want to Dock back, you can simply maximize the window.
Important Note:
The undocked view does not update real time. Meaning, updates made will only reflect if that window is selected / activated.
