You want to continue working on an Archicad project, but after trying to open it, a window appears titled Archicad Environment. The window reads: "Latest Project Settings and factory default template Project are missing or damaged. Archicad needs a valid Template Project to start from."
Solution
In this case, we can do a Repair installation to fix the corruption that is preventing you from opening Archicad projects.
- Find an Archicad installer. If you do not have the executable file, you can download Archicad from here (make sure it is the same language version).
- The installer will recognize that Archicad is already installed on your computer.
- Click on Next to proceed with a repair installation.
- Wait for the installation to finish
- Launch Archicad and try to open a new file.
The error message will not appear anymore.
