Issue description
A keyboard shortcut, such as Ctrl+E for Rotate, is not functioning in Archicad.
Solution
1. Check individual keys
- Test in Archicad: Create a text field in Archicad and see if the key works there.
- Test in other applications: Try the key in another program or web browser to verify its functionality.
- Check the keyboard: If the key doesn’t work anywhere, inspect the keyboard for possible issues.
2. Verify keyboard shortcuts in Archicad's work environment
- Navigate to Options > Work Environment > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Confirm that the desired command is assigned to the appropriate shortcut.
3. Check for third-party software conflicts
- Interference by third-party programs: Sometimes, keyboard shortcuts are occupied by other software, such as phone or communication applications, which can block their use in Archicad.
- Solution: Adjust or release the shortcut in the third-party program's settings.
TIP: If the issue persists across multiple users, it may be due to third-party software. For example, the Ctrl+E shortcut for Rotate is commonly affected. To troubleshoot, close all other programs via Task Manager and then try using the shortcut again.
