Issue Description
A 3D DWG or DXF file exported from Archicad either does not export properly or is exported without 3D data. The resulting 3D DWG file only displays in 2D.
Solution
1. Check the Exported DWG in a DWG Viewer:
- Do not open the DWG file in Archicad to check it, as Archicad converts the DWG upon import, which can lead to incorrect verification.
- Free DWG viewers are available for download on the internet.
- Is the drawing displayed correctly as a 3D model in the viewer? If so, the problem is likely with the import process.
- If the drawing is also shown as 2D in the viewer, proceed to solution 2.
2. Was the DWG/DXF Exported from the 3D Window?
- 3D data will only be included in the DWG/DXF export if the export is performed directly from the 3D window.
- Make sure the desired 3D content is visible in the 3D window.
- Go to File > Save As
- In the Save 3D As dialog, select the format, such as DWG, and choose a translator.
- Click the Save button to create the 3D DWG/DXF file.
