How can I define the element information in my BIMx model

Description

When creating a BIMx model in Archicad,  it is possible to control the element information that is shown in the model. By managing the Info set option in the publisher settings, it is possible to control how much data is being shared in your model.   

Solution

To control element information visibility in your BIMx model, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Navigator (1) and open the Publisher Sets (2) tab.
2. Select the BIMx model publisher set.

3. Open the Publishing Properties (3) dialog box.

   

4. In Publishing Properties, navigate to the Info Set field.

   

5. Choose one of the following options:

   • Classification and Properties: Uses data defined for each element in the Classification and Properties panel of its respective element settings dialog box.

   • None: Prevents the recipient from viewing any element information outside of basic geometry.

   • Select Schedule: Opens a pop-up to select one or more Element Schedule schemes. The BIMx model will use the data defined in the selected schedule(s).

Tip: To improve the publishing process create schedules divided by, for example, element type. This speeds up the update and publishing process and makes it easier to manage data.
