How to create a roof plan in Archicad

Description 

You have roofs on different levels but would still like to show all of them on a single roof plan layout.

Solution

To show roofs from different levels on a single roof plan, follow these steps:

1. Create a new Story for the Roof Plan via  Design Menu > Story Settings > Insert above.

   

2. Select the Roof and open the settings dialogue box.

3. Change the Home Story of your roofs; define it as your new story, and adjust the Pivot Line Offset to suit.

   TIP: If you find it hard to know what height value to set as the Pivot Line Offset, define the Home Story first, then view the model in 3D.  Simply select the roof and use the drag command to move it back into position.  This figure will then be automatically updated.

4. Now when you open the 'Roof story' you will see your roof plan. Add some Level Dimensions, and other annotations as required.
