Issue description
Your Elevation/Section view is displayed on a fully gray background, it's missing Story Levels, and when placed on a Layout, appears blank. You might also be unable to select elements on the Elevation.
Solution
This issue is typically caused by the viewpoint’s Vertical Range, which you can edit in the Section or Elevation settings. If Vertical Range is set to Limited and the two elevation values are equal (for example, both 0) or otherwise define a zero-height range, the view can appear gray and blank.
- Open Elevation/Section Settings dialog.
- Expand the General tab
In the Vertical Range section try the following options;
Option 1: Change Vertical Range to Infinite.
Option 2: Keep Vertical Range set to Limited and set different elevation values for the top and bottom of the range. These values can be measured from different reference levels such as Project Zero or a Story. Make sure the defined range actually encompasses the model geometry you want to show.
Tip: If the view still looks empty after correcting the range, zoom to fit or update the placed view on the layout to refresh the content.
