Issue Description
You created a Section View that cuts through a Stair. The Stair's Headroom is visible, but the Cut Fill appears totally Solid.
Solution
The Stair's headroom appearance on 2D plans cannot be modified from the Stair's Settings, as it is a 3D object. But its appearance can be influenced by different documentation settings.
Graphic Overrides
If your Graphic Override Combination includes a rule that Overrides Cut Fills to be Solid for All Elements. This is how your Stair will look:
The solution is to exclude the Stair from your rule in the Element Type. Like in the image below:
- Criteria: Element Type > is not > Stair.
Renovation Filter
If you are using Renovation Filters and the Renovation Status of your Stair is Existing or to be Demolished, the Filter Settings could be Overriding Fill type to be Solid for elements with these statuses.
1. Go to Document > Renovation > Renovation Filter Options.
2. Under Additional Filter Options scroll down to find Solid Cut Fill and untick the box next to the option.
Section Settings
The following option can influence the transparency of the Headroom on a 2D Section View:
1. Open your Section's Settings Dialogue.
2. Expand the Model Appearance panel.
3. Under Cut Elements set Cut Fill to Cut Fill, Non-Shaded (this will respect the Headroom's Fill type).
TIP: Make sure that Transparency is active Under Uncut Elements to ensure every segment of the Headroom is transparent, even if they are not being cut by the Section Marker.
