Issue description
You have created a zone, but it is not displayed in the 3D window.
Solution
Here are some settings to look out for:
-
Filter and Cut Elements in 3D: By default, in Archicad, zones are not enabled in 3D. To activate the 3D representation of zones:
- Go to View > Elements in 3D view > Filter and Cut Elements in 3D...
- Under Element Types to Show in 3D scroll down in the list to find Zone.
- Click on the checkbox to enable zones in 3D Views.
- Click OK.
-
Layer visibility:
- Go to Document > Layers > Layers (Model Layers)... or open the Layer Settings from the Quick Options Bar.
- Confirm that the layer containing the zones is visible in the current layer combination. If the layer is turned off, the zones will not appear in the 3D view.
- Make sure to update the layer combination after making the layer visible.
-
Graphic Overrides:
Zones may be affected by graphic overrides, making the surface in 3D transparent, for example. Disable any graphic overrides from the Quick Options Bar to determine if they are causing the issue. -
Renovation Filter:
- Go to Document > Renovation > Renovation Filter Options...
- Check if the renovation status of the affected zones, and check if elements with that status are set to Hide in the current renovation status.
- Make sure that the Hide Zone setting is not active
- Change the renovation status of your zone if it is incorrect.
-
Design Options:
Since the introduction of Design Options in Archicad 27, it is important to check the visibility of design options:- Open the Design Options palette via Window > Palettes.
- Turn on the visibility of each design option, or change the design option combination to find your zone.
- Relink your zone to the correct design option if needed or update the design option combination.
