Issue Description
You may receive a request to export your project data as a DWG file for additional editing in another software. The request specifies that the data should be in real-world coordinates, but you have already modeled at the origin.
Solution
Archicad has a built-in Survey Point. This is used for accurately positioning elements within the project space and ensuring alignment with real-world coordinates. The Survey Point serves as the reference origin for the project's coordinate system.
Activate the Survey Point from the standard toolbar,
Place the Survey Point and then follow these steps:
1) Make sure you are in the Model Space or a View. Coordinates of the Survey Point are ignored when exporting DWGs from layout.
2) File Menu > Save As
3) Change the file 'Save as type' to DWG
4) Open the translator's settings
5) Under the Settings header > Save Options, set the 'Match files Origin' to 'Survey Point'
When this option is enabled, you ensure consistency and accuracy when transferring files between different software applications or when sharing files with collaborators who are working with the same coordinate system.
