How to import a TXT file

Description 

You have received or requested land data from a surveyor in the form of TXT file. How can we import this data into Archicad to build a native Mesh?

Solution

A TXT file contains 3 columns of XYZ data (coordinates), which Archicad will use to construct a terrain using the mesh tool.

To import land data from a TXT file into Archicad and build a mesh terrain, follow these steps:

1. Confirm the TXT file contains 3 columns representing X, Y, and Z coordinates.
2. Open Archicad.
3. Go to the File menu > Interoperability > Place mesh from surveyors data.
4. When prompted, select the unit of measurement, placement, and height above sea level.

5. Click OK.

   

6. Click the origin point in your project to place the imported terrain mesh.
