Issue description
When working with 2D elements, we may need to extend or shorten lines to match precisely with other elements in our plan. We may find that reshaping elements by modifying their nodes slows down the workflow.
Solution
We can use the Adjust command for this purpose. We have two ways to access this tool.
The first one, is in the menu bar.
- Select the line you want to modify.
- Go to Edit > Reshape > Adjust
- Click on the line or edge that you would like it to be adjusted to
The second one is by using the command's keyboard shortcut.
- Select the line you want to modify.
- Activate the command with its keyboard shortcut (default on Windows is Ctrl + - )
- Click on the line or edge that you would like it to be adjusted to
To change the keyboard shortcut:
Options > Work Environment > Keyboard Shortcuts...
Note: The Adjust command works with 3D elements too, such as walls, columns, or beams.
