How to add an Insulated Reveal to a Window in Archicad?

Description

If you are having trouble creating a reveal that has an insulation turn (see picture below), you might need to adjust some Attributes in your project or select the correct type of Wall Closure. 

Solution

You should make sure your project’s attributes are set correctly. Follow these steps to help you through the process:

1. Go to the Composite Settings Options > Element Attributes > Composites.

2. Make sure that each skin layer has the right classification, as it will allow the reveal to appear correctly. 

   
    

3. Leave the Composite Settings and then select your Window. Then open the Window Settings.
4. In the Window's settings go to Basic Window Settings > Wall Closure...
5. Next to Wall Closure Type choose Insulated Reveal.

6. Enable the Turn in Skin option (thickness of each of these skins is modifiable).

   
    

7. The window's Reveal to Wall Core can be modified afterwards to align the Window with the insulation layer.
