Issue
In the project, the stakeholders work on models, which are created with different applications. Synchronizing and defining location data on the individual object level is time-consuming and may result in inconsistent element placement when exchanging files using IFC, BCF, DXF, and DWG formats.
Solution
The recommended work flow is to model at the project origin rather than the real-world coordinates, as this can cause far-from origin related performance issues.
You must then define the Survey Point with the correct surveyor-provided values.
Check out this guide to help you define location data for your project.
- Open Location Settings:
- Go to Options > Project Preferences > Location Settings.
- Or right-click the project name in the Navigator and select Location Settings.
-
In the Survey Point panel, enter the surveyor’s Easting and Northing coordinates as under Position (use negative values for correct display of coordinates in Coordinate objects and export)
- Click OK to save your changes.
TIP:
Why coordinate object not showing correct coordinates after setting up survey point?
