Issue Description
In Archicad Teamwork, deleting Local Cache Data can resolve various issues related to synchronization, performance, or file corruption. However, this action should be used with caution, as unsent changes will be permanently lost. Below are the scenarios when it’s appropriate to delete local cache data.
Solution
1. When Facing Teamwork Synchronization Issues
-
Changes made by you or others are not visible after Send & Receive.
-
Elements appear locked or reserved by another user, even when they shouldn’t be.
2. When Experiencing Performance Issues
-
The Teamwork project is slow to load or navigate.
-
Unexpected lag or freezes during Teamwork operations.
3. When Changes Are Not Saved Correctly
-
Changes revert after performing Send & Receive.
-
Elements or views you modified disappear or fail to update on the server.
4. When Display or Graphic Issues Occur
-
Library objects appear as black dots.
-
Elements are misrepresented or missing in your view but not for others.
5. When Receiving Cache-Related Error Messages
-
Messages like:
-
"Incompatible or corrupted cache file."
-
"Error during last Teamwork operation."
-
"Cannot open ARCHICAD cache."
-
6. After Upgrading Archicad
-
When switching to a newer Archicad version for the same Teamwork project, especially if the cache from the previous version causes compatibility issues.
7. When Advised by Graphisoft Support
-
If you're working with Graphisoft's support team on a specific issue, they may recommend deleting local cache data as part of troubleshooting.
