Issue description
Fonts appear correctly in Archicad but may not print or export to PDF as expected. This issue is often caused by font compatibility problems or corrupted font files.
Solution
If you're using custom fonts in Archicad layouts or documentation, check with the vendor or font foundry to ensure they are up to date and properly installed on your system. Follow the steps below to validate fonts on macOS. If you're using Windows, consider reinstalling or updating the font file.
macOS: Validate Fonts with Font Book
macOS includes a built-in tool to check the integrity of installed fonts using the Font Book app:
- Open Finder.
- Go to '~/Applications/Font Book.app' to launch Font Book.
- Scroll to find the font used in your Archicad project.
- Click the dropdown arrow next to the font name.
- If multiple copies appear, click the one with a yellow warning icon.
- Select Resolve Automatically to fix conflicts.
- If no warning is shown, select the font and go to File > Validate Font to run a manual check.
Additional Recommendations
- Ensure you're using the latest version of the font from the font vendor or foundry.
- Avoid using duplicate or legacy font files that may conflict with system settings.
- For best results, use widely supported and standard fonts in Archicad layouts.
