This article applies to CodeMeter Software Key and USB License Types.
Issue Description
The majority of cases where the license cannot be found by ArchiCAD can be resolved by re-installing the protection key driver. Our first recommendation is to re-install the CodeMeter license key driver, which is used by both the CodeMeter USB key and the Software key type of license.
Steps to Follow
1. Remove the USB license key from the computer. If you have a Software key, skip to step 2.
(Not applicable if you are using a network license and the key is plugged into another computer on the network)
2. Download (Save) the latest CodeMeter driver: https://graphisoft.com/downloads/protection_key?#CMforAC
3. Uninstall the current driver:
-
Windows: Go to Control Panel and choose either Uninstall a Program or Programs & Features.
Locate CodeMeter or CodeMeter Runtime Kit xx.x in the list and uninstall.
- Mac: Open the download from step 2 and use the CmUninstall app.
4. Run the installer from step 2 by double-clicking the installer app or exe.
5. Restart the computer.
6. If you have a CodeMeter USB key, re-insert it. If you have a Software key, skip to Step 7.
(Not applicable if you are using a network license and the key is plugged into another computer on the network)
7. Start Archicad.
Note: If your License Key is not fully up to date then you must open the License Manager Tool and update your license key. Otherwise the version of Archicad you are trying to open may not run. It is required that you have previously purchased a license or you must have an active SSA or Forward agreement for the license to be available for your key.
